Wanting every part of you is not a crime Could it be that you’re the one who’s wrong this time
Pamela Don’t break this heart of mine Just remember it may not heal this time Pamela There is no second second chance For the one who leaves it all behind
It’s been in my head for three weeks. THREE weeks. I love it!
If I hadn’t been a woman, I’d be a drag queen for sure. I like all that flair and I’d be dressing up in them high heels and putting on the big hair. I’d be like Ru Paul.
This is Olivia Thirlby and her head of super fabulous hair. I wish I could sport a do like this one, but alas, fate once again said no. Well, at least my genes said no.
Le sigh. The only things I’ve gotten in all the wish list posts I’ve had were the two Aldo shoes from Wish List Fail…Not, which isn’t so bad, really, but the hair! Olivia’s très chic, très lovely hair! Such a cruel, cruel world…
Oh, and can I just say that I love her sheer black blouse with all the ruffles! I’m going to get myself one, the envious bugger that I am.
Like everybody else who swears by sartorial pursuits, I was more excited by what the women were wearing at the 2012 Golden Globes than by who was nominated and who actually won. And there were really a lot of good things to look at! There was Kate Beckinsale who was glamor personaified; Charlize Theron who was very lovely; Sofia Vergara who was drop-dead sexy (and who I envy not-so-secretly); Jessica Alba who could’ve not given birth at all for how fit she looked; and a whole plethora of girl power.
But there were also those who didn’t quite make the A- (according to OMG) who were still really very interesting and looked good despite what other people thought.
Let’s start off with Tilda Swinton:
How could she have gotten such a low grade?? The fist time I saw this photo, I was floored. It looks so good on her! It makes you wonder how these things are graded. I mean, why does anyone have to be beautiful the way most people define beautiful?
Her red carpet history isn’t usually very feminine anyway and I think that should’ve been taken into account when judging the way she dressed for this. Honestly, would she look right in what Charlize Theron was wearing? I don’t think so.
And, my God, she has androgyny down to an impressive pat!
I love this dress on her. Period. She looked good in this just as much as when she was in a suit in the movie Constantine.
Next up is Sarah Michelle Gellar:
This is such a fun dress to look at. I bet if it were another color, she’d get an A, but the fact is, she didn’t because it was so out of what’s usually “glamorous” in the red carpet. But I love it. It’s funky and different and interesting. Like ink in water.
A cocktail dress this color wouldn’t be so bad either.
Then we have Dianna Agron:
Looks cool as a cucumber, doesn’t she? I especially love the top part of her dress. The skirt is a little too busy for me and kind of clashes with the mod top part, but the overall picture is lovely. And she did carry it well. Besides, what’s a dress without the confidence of the wearer, right?
And I love the color! I don’t care if it’s as red as the carpet; it’s still a very arresting shade!
One of my absolute favorites is Zooey Deschanel:
She’s really cute as a button and I think the gown suited her very well. You just don’t put too much sexy on a face like that, is what I think. You can’t put her in a dress like Beckinsale’s or Vergara’s even if she could prolly pull it off. Nope, because her face already speaks so much for her. This dress was just a win on her.
And her hair looks so bouncy in the photo! I’d love to have hair like that!
Deschanel is one of the few in the industry that I can’t bring myself to hate on no matter what she wears because every piece matches with the personality she shows on screen (and maybe even off).
And last but not the least is Helen Mirren:
She got a B+, and that’s the most unfair grade ever. Not only was the dress age-appropriate, but it also looked so flattering on her. The color looks great. The fit looks great. The details look great. The skirt especially looks so glam that Helen Mirren looked like a total gem! She didn’t even look 66!
What exactly should she be wearing to get an A+? I think she should’ve been right up there with Beckinsale and Jolie. But alas, such was not her fate that night. No matter. Helen Mirren, I do believe you still rocked the carpet!
So far a departure from Swift’s usual songs, but really very nice! It’s so fucking haunting!
I’m not a fan of The Hunger Games, but the song makes me want to watch it.
Don’t you dare look out your window, darling Everything’s on fire The war outside our door keeps raging on Hold onto this lullaby Even when the music’s gone…gone
Just close your eyes The sun is going down You’ll be alright No one can hurt you now Come morning light You and I’ll be safe and sound
He a motherfucking trip, trip, sailor of the ship, ship When he make it drip, drip kiss him on the lip, lip
I can listen to this song all day. Like, swear.
Boy you got my heartbeat runnin’ away Beating like a drum and it’s coming your way Can’t you hear that boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass Yeah that’s that super bass Got that super bass boom, badoom, boom, boom, badoom, boom, bass Yeah that’s that super bass
This song is soo chill. It’s like the song you listen to on long drives and the view is a never-ending field of rice paddies (or whatever) and the weather is hot and your eyes are droopy from sleep.
Or at the office, doing serious work before the rhythm gets to you and the next thing you know, you’re nodding along to the beat. And so is everyone else.
It’s my poofiest skirt and I think I’ve fallen in love all over again! See that little slip of black tulle at the bottom? Yep, it’s a petticoat! How often do you get to wear petticoats on normal days, right?! And the skirt has horse patterns. I. Can’t. Get. Over. It. (insert little hearts)
Taken a day before All Soul’s Day. And my hair is not that long! Haha! That was my god mother’s hair, strategically captured in a photo. And do you see that little boy in jeans and boots? He’s my youngest cousin and prolly the trendiest. I swear.
And as you can see, I’ve taken to wearing t-shirts. I wasn’t a fan, but suddenly I just want to buy lots of t-shirts. And skirts and jackets to jazz them up.

Oh yes, I bought the shoes from an earlier post! I did realize a lot later that I shouldn’t have had the photo taken against a wooden background because the shoes just about blended in. But! Don’t care. I have the shoes and I’m loving every moment of wearing them! (And my moment of black and cognac)
Anywho, this was when Typhoon Pedring blew in and school and office alike were suspended. Still, the announcement came when I was already in the office and the photo was taken when I got back home already a little rumpled. So…no real outfit post. Have to re-create because I love this skirt. It has ruffles. And they win.
Oh well. The other shoe I wanted is still being decided on because there’s another pair that I like and I can only buy one since I’m currently saving for a trip! And a new laptop and prolly a new phone. So…
